ariel's making ...somen rolls

before our girls' night out, i decided we should all have some tapas. it was friday, which meant the cupboards were pretty empty (saturday is market day!) so i had to get creative. i had some japanese somen noddles, so i thought i'd go for a japanese style spring roll.

besides the somen noddles, i added sauted shitake mushrooms, fresh carrots, romaine lettuce and sugar snaps. it's best to prep all your fillings early, because they wrap up much more easly at room temp than pipping hot! i used a small sized rice paper wrap too, so they were more bite/tapa size.

for dipping, i made a peanut sauce using peanut butter, vinegar, sugar, soy sauce and a little bit of seasame oil.

my girls brought over a bunch of other great tapas, like dolmas, mango salsa, hummus and pita chips -- and we had the most amazing evening out on the town in the castro!

happy rollin' ... rollin' with the hommies!

haha!

kisses,

ariel
